We are committed to food safety throughout every aspect of our growing operation and have made the health and safety of our customers our top priority. We implement food safety best practices at every stage of the production cycle, from planting all the way through harvesting, packing, cooling, and distribution.
Our Food Safety Standards
Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) Program
Our berries are grown under strict food safety standards and industry leading Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) that were created by recommendations from the USDA. We conduct regular risk assessments throughout our farms and facilities, require mandatory employee safety education and have implemented a detailed equipment sanitation program.
Third-Party Audits
We voluntarily submit to independent third-party audits from trained inspectors to verify total compliance with all local, state and federal food safety laws and regulations as well as internationally recognized best practices. These include the new standards set forth by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) under the Food Safety Modernization Act.
Clean Water
We implement a strict water quality testing schedule for all of our water sources to make sure our water is safe for its intended use.
Integrated Pest Management (IPM)
Our Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program focuses on prevention, monitoring, and control of pests. This approach allows us to minimize the use of pesticides in our farming operations and create a growing environment in balance with nature.
Traceability
We have a product traceability system in place that allows us to quickly investigate issues and trace product back to the farm where it was grown and harvested.
Quality Assurance
Our trained staff of experts are on hand throughout every aspect of our growing, harvesting, packing and shipping operations to ensure that our strict standards for quality and safety are upheld every step of the way.
